What Students Say?

Anand Durai Thirumalai, India

The University of Auckland supports and encourages new ideas, and helps build a good career. My masters study at this prestigious University will serve to enhance my understanding of the subject, and give me the edge I require to become a successful engineer in this field.

Julie Kho, Malaysia

During my undergraduate degree, I was so inspired by a lecture from Professor Cather Simpson that I applied for a summer scholarship project with her at the Photon Factory. The experiences I had that summer were mind-blowing – I observed how the perseverance of scientists can lead to successful experimental results, I got to work with a group of very smart researchers, and I got to build and use state-of-the-art lasers!

After I complete my masters degree, I want to start my career as an Urban Planner. I believe that the University of Auckland’s career events, networking within the University environment, and location in the country will all play a key role for my entry into the work force.

Carlos Anchieta, Brazil

Mina Badiei, Iran

I thought it might be difficult to deal with being thousands of miles away from home, but Auckland’s rich culture and lovely people meant I didn’t feel homesick or lonely. I enjoy Auckland’s outstanding lifestyle, beautiful parks, landscapes and amazing beaches. Aucklanders are so friendly and welcoming, and living in Auckland is super cool.
